Backstory
Laura is an accomplished relationship builder and connector with over 19 years of investor relations experience. She has coached investor relations teams, founded a women’s career development program, and effectively implemented fundraising strategies to deliver on capital raising goals. She has demonstrated the ability to understand LP challenges, help them solve problems, and continues to question the status quo by thinking creatively to deliver results.

Prior to joining Venture Forward Capital Laura was the Head of Capital Formation in Private Equity and Venture Capital. Her systematic approach to fundraising, pitch decks, and IR processes has helped raise over $2B+ in capital.

From 2017-203, Laura was a Managing Director at Bramshill Investments. As a key leader, she helped Bramshill grow from roughly $600million in assets to $3.5 billion in assets. Her approach is solutions oriented, tailored, and innovative to connect with LP investors.

Laura graduated from the Columbia Business School in 2023 earning her MBA and SUNY Oswego earning her Bachelors in 2007. She is a member of Women in Funds and Female Founder Collective.

What types of companies do you find most interesting?
Companies with founders who have a strong desire to succeed, can articulate their story in a compelling way, and who are disrupting the industry with massive ability to scale and grow.

What do you think surprises founders most when they start companies?
How hard it is to get customers once you’ve built your product. Building customer loyalty is crucial.

Which mentor has influenced your work the most?
Alisa Wood, KKR who said I should focus on what I’m good what. For me that’s build relationships with people and connecting people.

Five things you couldn’t live without?
My french bulldog - Olivia, health, family, friends, and pilates.

What are your favorite books?
"Ride of a Lifetime" by Bob Iger. His persistent and relentless approach to winning the CEO position at Walt Disney.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
If you don’t work to build your dream life, someone will hire you to build theirs.
